I came up with this blog post after losing my electricity due to the inclement weather in my area. To make a long story short, it made me think of my many clients, who might be experiencing their own outages. Many believe that using heat is the only way to achieve a great hairstyle, but in fact, there are many heatless hairstyles, that not only leave your hair looking great but that are easy to achieve and very low maintenance. So below you will find examples of heatless hairstyles to get you through that unexpected power outage or day when you just don't feel like pulling out the flat iron! Enjoy!
This look can be achieved by using mousse, setting lotion, or foam wrap lotion. Braid or twist (Bantu knots) your hair and keep it braided over night. Once you wake up take out the braids or knots, then take a wide tooth comb and comb out your hair until it's as full as you desire.

This style can be achieved by using pomade or styling gel. Take a brush, brush the hair in a secure ponytail then wrap the hair securely around. Once the hair is fully wrapped, use the bobby pins to hold the hair in place. |
This look can be achieved by french braiding your hair in any direction, then wrapping braid around the hair as you desire. Once braid is done you can use the bun technique to secure the braid in place. You can also op for a messier look.
This is a great post! What do you suggest for us with less managable hair? The girl in the first picture looks like her hair is way more managable than mine buti love that look. I just can't pull it off :(
ReplyDeleteThank you Lauren! If your curl pattern is tighter you can still achieve these looks. No it may not be identical to the model's hair texture, but you can most definitely pull off these looks. Everybody's hair has it's own character. You have to utilize what you have and make these styles happen, it's definitely possible. Your hair will just have more texture to it. For style 1, if you have a tighter curl I recommend the bantu knots. For style 2, hair style works best on hair with natural oils in it (hair that hasn't been washed in 1 /2weeks). For style 3, the same that is recommended for style 2.
